Stephanie Croteau Obituary, Death – Stephanie Rachel Croteau, a cherished daughter, wife, mother, and sister, met a tragic end in an early morning car accident on October 6, 2023. Born on May 15, 1995, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, Stephanie was a distinguished member of the class of 2013 at Springfield Renaissance School. An honor roll student, varsity soccer player, and cross country team member, she left a lasting impact on her school community. Stephanie’s devotion to her family, especially her role as a mother, defined her.

She was a loving and fierce protector of her three beloved children, and her determination and stubbornness were emblematic of her character. Her happy place was her Pepere’s lake house, where she spent weekends with her family during the summer. She had a particular fondness for the Big E in September and enjoyed vacations in Maine and Florida. Professionally, Stephanie worked as a server for the Fifties Diner in Chicopee, MA, showcasing her commitment to hard work. Her previous role as a DSWI for the Department of Developmental Services highlighted her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Christopher Serra Sr.; children, Michele Bodley and Christopher Serra Jr.; father and stepmother, Jeffrey L. Croteau Sr. and Nicole Croteau; stepfather, Scott Fairbanks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David Serra and Geraldine Duffy; sister and brother-in-law, Alyssa and Casey Straight; and brother Jeffrey Croteau, Jr. She is also remembered by her niece, Addison Straight, two nephews, Jackson Croteau and Francis Straight, and numerous relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for October 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, and the Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on October 14, 2023, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Make A Wish Foundation. Stephanie’s untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will be cherished by all who were touched by her warmth and love.
