Brian Pillman Jr. Reportedly Sustained A Concussion During This Week's Dynamite

AEW star Brian Pillman Jr. is reportedly dealing with a concussion that was sustained during the Varsity Blondes vs. Kings of the Black Throne match on this week's edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Pillman was forced to withdraw from a Warrior Wrestling show in Indiana that goes down this weekend. The reason for Pillman's withdrawal is yet to be revealed by either party, but Wrestling Inc. reports that Pillman is recovering from a concussion. Pillman will be replaced by Davey Bang, who will go one-on-one with Silas Young at the event.

In case you missed it, Pillman and his Varsity Blondes teammate Griff Garrison were absolutely demolished by House of Black residents Brody King and Malakai Black, known collectively as The Kings of the Black Throne. It was ostensibly a squash match to get KOBT over as a formidable duo, and it served that purpose perfectly.

The following day, Pillman took to Twitter to address the defeat.

"Last night our opponents beat us fair and square," he wrote. "I believe they will prove to be one of the most powerful forces to step foot in AEW. I’ve been second guessing myself a lot lately and honestly I’m worried for the future of the Varsity Blonds..."

The sinister Malakai Black has been tormenting The Varsity Blondes for several weeks now. He beat Griff Garrison senseless last month and hit Julia Hart in the face with the Black Mist shortly after. He didn't need any backup to deal with the young stable, but he brought Brody King in for good measure.

Is The House Of Black finally done with The Varsity Blondes, or will the torment continue? Will The House Of Black gain more followers? These questions will be answered in time, and we'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
